Power Department Division Kupwara Failed To Provide Information Under RTI Act 2009 Within Time Period

Kupwara: Although as per Right to Information RTI guidelines, the responded must reply within a one month period of submission of application under RTI Act 2009 but it seemed that indifferent approach of Power Department Division Kupwara towards RTI Act has made it to put the RTI plea on the back burner.

One Wasim Mir a local RTI activists filed a RTI Plea to Power Department Division Kupwara to seek information about Expenditure of funds, details of employees, amount released, supply order etc. in Kupwara  from 2015 till date in  Division Kupwara, details of tenders and quotations thereof and details of vouchers.

“But the concerned Power Department Xen has failed to provide information within time period, said RTI activist, adding, “The delay itself indicates that there is something wrong in the Division Kupwara about funds.”

The RTI activist has appealed Governor Satya Pal Malik to intervene in the matter and demanded strict action against Power Department Xen for not providing information under RTI act 2009.
