Allahabad HC dismisses PIL to ban entry of non-Hindus in Gyanvapi complex

Date:

Allahabad High Court on Tuesday dismissed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) as withdrawn which prayed for a ban on the entry of non-Hindus inside the Gyanvapi complex.

The order was passed by the division bench of Chief Justice Pritinker Diwaker and Justice Ashutosh Srivastava.

In the PIL filed by Rakhi Singh, Jitendra Singh Visen and others, it was prayed that the entry of non-Hindus inside the Gyanvapi complex should be banned and Hindu symbols found in the complex should be ordered to be preserved until an order was passed by the Varanasi court in the Shringar Gauri Sthal case.

The bench observed that the litigant had already filed a civil suit in the Varanasi court.

The HC stated that whatever order the petitioner wants to get from the High Court, she can demand the same by filing an application in the lower court in Varanasi.

On the submission of the petitioner that she would present her case in the Varanasi lower court, the bench dismissed the PIL as withdrawn.
