‘I am on way to meet affected families; CM assured me all possible help’
Senior National Conference leader and MLA Gurez, Nazir Ahmad Khan, on Saturday said that nearly 20 houses were damaged in a massive fire at Kashpat village in Tulail Tehsil of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district.
Speaking to news agency KINS while travelling from Srinagar to Gurez to meet the affected families, Gurezi said: “Almost 20 houses have been gutted in Kashpat village. On top of this, a recent cloudburst has damaged a large portion of farmland, which is the only source of income for many people here,” he said.
The MLA said he has already spoken to the Deputy Commissioner Bandipora and requested urgent help from the Red Cross.
“I also met the Chief Minister and demanded compensation and rehabilitation for the victims. The Chief Minister has assured me that the government will provide all possible support,” he added.(KINS)
