Srinagar, Sept 25: Union Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office, Dr Jitendra Singh, today visited Polo View market in Srinagar, where he interacted with traders, shopkeepers, and locals. He was accompanied by BJP J&K spokesman Altaf Thakur.
During the interaction, Dr Singh held a detailed discussion with the business community about the recently announced Goods and Services Tax (GST) relaxation and its expected impact on local trade. He assured the traders that the government is committed to providing all possible support to boost economic activity in Jammu and Kashmir.
“The GST relaxation is aimed at reducing the financial burden on small and medium traders, ensuring ease of doing business, and encouraging growth in local markets,” Dr Singh said, while addressing the gathering.
BJP spokesman Altaf Thakur also highlighted the government’s proactive approach in addressing the concerns of traders. He said that initiatives like GST relaxation would help revive commercial activity and enhance livelihood opportunities for thousands of people associated with the market.
Local shopkeepers and traders welcomed the move and expressed hope that the decision would ease their operational challenges and strengthen their businesses.(JKNS)
