Amid freezing cold wave conditions, the Government on Friday announced the winter vacation in Kashmir valley and winter zones of Jammu division in a phased schedule, officials said.
“It is hereby ordered that all the Government Schools and recognized Private Schools up to higher
Secondary level of Kashmir division and Winter zone’s of Jammu division shall observe winter vacation as per the schedule”, an order issued by the School Education Department said.
The School Education Department announced the classes upto 5th primary shall observe the winter vacation from December 10, 2024 to February 28, 2025.
Similarly classes from 6th standard upto 12th standard will observe the winter vacation from December 16, 2024 to February 28, 2025.
The teaching staff of Government High and Higher Secondary Schools shall remain available at respective headquarters from February 10, 2025 onwards for preparatory arrangements for the ensuing Board Examinations Class 10th and 12th, the order reads.
The order further said that all the teachers shall remain available as required for any on-line guidance to students during the vacation period.
“Any default on the part of Heads of Institutions/Teaching staff in observance of the schedule order shall attract strict action under the rules”, it warned.
