Srinagar: The one-man inquiry of Additional Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Nazir Ahmad Baba, probing the killing of Gowhar Nazir Dar of Zainkote by CRPF, Thursdayvisited the family of the slain youth about the incident.Gowhar Nazir
Habibullah Gulshan Dar, uncle of Gowhar, told KNS that the team visited the spot and talked during the day with the people who had any information about the incident.
“We feel till now that the inquiry officer seems impartial as he talked with different people for full day,” Dar told KNS.
“He recorded the statements of witnesses, people who are living near the spot of killing, and others. The inquiry officer asked Gowhar’s father to record his statement tomorrow,” he said.
While talking to KNS, Baba said the recording of statements will continue till 23rd of this month, and probably the report will be completed within a month.
“I recorded the statements of the people in the area and have again asked CRPF and Police to also provide all the details of the incident to him. I hope the security forces will cooperate with me,” Baba told KNS.
Earlier, the family of Gowhar had questioned the government for calling them to record the statements at DC office in Srianagar.
He said for the convenience of people, we shifted the office for recording statements to SDM Office Shalteng.
Earlier, the people demanded that the killer of Gowhar should be identified and the CRPF camp be shifted immediately from Zainkote. (KNS)
