J&K Police arrest absconder in Shopian after 15 years on the run

 Continuing its sustained efforts to bring absconding offenders to justice, Jammu and Kashmir Police have apprehended an absconder who had been evading arrest since 2010 in Shopian.

After consistent and dedicated efforts, police succeeded in arresting Mohd Imran Wani, a resident of Gadri Mohalla, Shopian, presently residing at Chawalgam, Kulgam. The accused was wanted in FIR No. 475/2010 under sections 379, 353, 336 RPC, and Section 6 of the Forest Act, registered at Police Station Shopian. He had been deliberately evading the due process of law for the past 15 years.

The arrest marks a major success in J&K Police’s ongoing drive to trace and apprehend long-term absconders, reaffirming its commitment to justice and accountability. The arrested individual has been produced before the Hon’ble Court of Law for further legal proceedings.(KINS)
