A day after Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha ordered the reopening of ‘deliberately buried’ terror cases, police in several districts in Kashmir launched a helpline to provide timely support and assistance to families affected by terrorism.
The helpline has been set up in Budgam and Anantnag districts.
Police said a dedicated grievance cell and helpline has been established at the District Police Office, Budgam to provide timely support families of victims.
“This initiative is intended to facilitate the registration and resolution of grievances of terrorism affected families across the district,” police said.
It said the family members of terror cases can reach out to the helpline on 9541902668, available Monday to Saturday, between 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM.
“The helpline will serve as a vital point of contact, enabling affected individuals to access essential services, support and redressal mechanisms,” police said.
Police in Anantnag also established a dedicated helpline to assist individuals and families affected by terrorism-related incidents within the district.
“Victims or their kin can approach the helpline to register grievances or seek assistance,” police said.
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha yesterday asked civil and police heads of all districts to reopen cases of terror victims “which were deliberately buried” in the last three decades and ensure that government jobs are provided to their next of kin on a priority basis.
