Police in Handwara organised a comprehensive awareness programme on the newly introduced criminal laws to educate citizens about important legal reforms.
The initiative was carried out through audio-visual presentations at prominent locations, including Main Chowk Handwara and Main Chowk Vilgam, drawing a large public response. Informative videos explained the key provisions of the new criminal laws, focusing on sections that directly concern the safety, dignity, and rights of common citizens.
Police officials stressed that the reforms are aimed at ensuring speedy justice, strengthening law enforcement, and providing better protection for vulnerable groups, including women, children, and the elderly.
Citizens welcomed the initiative, appreciating the effort to raise legal awareness. Police also urged participants to share the knowledge with their families and communities to ensure wider reach.
