Police seizes 08 vehicles involved for illegal extraction & transportation of minerals in Ganderbal, Shopian

 As part of its relentless drive against illegal mining, Police along with the Geology & Mining Department, seized 08 vehicles (02 Tippers, 01 JCB, 03 Dumpers & 02 Tractors) engaged in the illegal extraction and transportation of minerals in Ganderbal and Shopian

The seized vehicles found loaded with illegally extracted minerals from Nallah Sindh and Nallah Rambiara and were intercepted within the jurisdiction of PS Gund & PS Lar of district Ganderbal and within jurisdiction of Police Post Turkwangam of district Shopian.

This decisive action underscores the strong commitment of J&K Police and the Geology & Mining Department in curbing the menace of illegal mining. By ensuring that violators are brought under the ambit of law, the police aim to protect the natural resources and maintain environmental balance.

Community members are earnestly appealed to extend their cooperation by sharing any information regarding such unlawful activities in their areas.(JKNS)
