Srinagar, July 20 : A senior pro-freedom leader on Friday was Booked under Public Safety Act (PSA), the legislation described as ‘lawless law’ by amnesty international.
An official said that the Muslim League Jammu and Kashmir chairman Mushtaq-ul-Islam was arrested by police few days ago by police station Batmaloo and today he was booked under the PSA.
Islam was booked under PSA vide government order number PSA-DMS/PSA/11 dated 20-07-2018, the official said.
According to the official the pro-freedom leader was later shifted to Kotbhalwal Jammu. He said that Islam was involved in “anti-national” activities and, as such, he was arrested and subsequently booked under PSA. (GNS)
