A 7.1-magnitude earthquake hit the waters off the coast of Peru at 1:36 p.m. Friday, Beijing Time, according to the China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC).
The epicenter, with a depth of 30 km, was monitored at 15.90 degrees south latitude and 74.35 degrees west longitude, said the CENC.
