Rs2.4 crore Special Relief for NoK of police personnel who have passed away while in service

Director General of Police J&K R.R. Swain on Tuesday has sanctioned Rs 2.4 crore as Special Welfare Relief for NoK (Next of Kin) of the deceased police personnel /SPO who have passed away while in service.

The DGP also sanctioned financial assistance of Rs one lakh for the marriage ceremony of a martyr’s daughter.

The special welfare relief of Rs. 22 lakh each has been sanctioned in favour of dependents/legal heirs of deceased Police personnel including Inspector Gurdeep Singh, HC (Tel) Davinder Singh, HC Ram Raj, SgCt Manoj Kumar, SgCt Farooq Ahmad, SgCt Imtiyaz Ahmad, SgCt Gulzar Ahmad Wani, SgCt Imran Fayaz and Ct. Vishal Singh. They passed away due to illness while in service.

Rs. one lakh each has been already paid to the families/ NoK deceased personnel for performing the last rites as immediate relief by the PHQ through their concerned Unit/Wing. The amount is sanctioned out of the Contributory Police Welfare Fund and is one among other various welfare measures of Police Headquarters.

The DGP has also sanctioned Rs 6 lakh in favour of the family/ legal heirs of deceased SPO (Special Police Officer) Deepak Sharma, who passed away while he was engaged with the Police department.

Out of this amount, Fifty thousand was already paid to the family/NoK for performing the last rites as immediate relief. The financial assistance has been given out of the Contributory Police Welfare Fund of SPOs.
