Uniform Civil Code not acceptable to Muslims: Madani

of Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind Maulana Arshad Madani on Tuesday said that Muslims will not accept the implementation of Uniform Civil Code at all as it is against the fundamental rights.

In a statement issued here, Maulana Madani said, “Muslims will not accept the implementation of Uniform Civil Code at all because it is against the fundamental rights.”

He said that India is a secular country where people of all religions have their religious freedom.

“Therefore, it will not be in the interest of the country to implement the Uniform Civil Code.”

He said that Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind would not accept the government’s interference in religious matters.

“We should not oppose it by taking to the streets but within the ambit of the Constitution,” he

said.
