Srinagar: Body of Boniyar victim girl was exhumed on Friday to clarify certain medico-legal aspects by experts in forensic medicine from GMC Srinagar.
The 9-year-old girl was allegedly killed and raped by accused who include her stepbrother and his associates. Her stepmother had conspired whole plot to kill her as per police investigations. All accused have been already arrested.
“Body of the minor girl of Boniyar was exhumed today in order to clarify certain more medico-legal aspects which earlier doctors while performing autopsy could not do,” said SSP Baramulla Imtiyaz Hussain.
He said a team of doctors including experts in forensic medicine from GMC Srinagar reached Boniyar and conducted the required process.
The police on Wednesday said the 9-year-old girl from Uri was gang-raped and murdered after her decomposed body was recovered from a forest area, ten days after she went missing.
The police arrested the victim’s stepmother, stepbrother and three others in connection with the gruesome incident. (GNS)
