Srinagar: Hailing the meeting between Pakistan Army Chief General Raheel Sharief and US Secretary of State John Kerry in which they discussed Kashmir Issue, the incarcerated Chairman a Democratic Freedom Party Shabir Ahmad Shah expressed hope that the meeting proves to be good omen for the South Asia.

"We hope that the meeting between the two leaders yield positive results and give impetus to efforts aimed at ensuring peace in the South Asia," Shah said in a statement to KNS.

Shah said that in order to create a peaceful world and to ensure trouble free subcontinent, there is a need to resolve all the pending disputes in a sincere way.

He hailed the Pakistani (political, military and religious) leadership for their efforts towards finding resolution of Kashmir issue.

He said the Kashmir issue needs to be highlighted at every forum of world as it is the bone of contention between the two neighboring nations who spend much of their budget on defense procurement.

"We hope that John Kerry will take cognizance of the continuing grave human rights violations taking place in Jammu and Kashmir by the hands of Indian occupational forces and will take the world leadership on board in this regard," he said.

Shah said it's unfortunate that East Timur and South Sudan achieved independence after a brief struggle but Kashmiris even after sacrificing more than 5 lakh souls are not given any attention. "The Indian occupational forces continue to play with the lives of common people here and commit wrist kind of human rights violations."

The DFP Chairman said the uncertainty in the subcontinent is only due to stubbornness of India with regards to Kashmir dispute and its policy is endangering the peace in the whole of South Asia.

He said we are not against the security and integrity of any nation but are fighting for our birth right of self determination as India too fought for its rights against the British rule. 
"Indian illegal and forcible occupation is giving rise to so many tragedies with each passing day and the peace in JK has become a dream."

Shabir Ahmad Shah appealed the world leadership to seriously take notice of the situation in Jammu Kashmir saying that to turn a state into a virtual jail in 21st century is a challenge to world peace.

Meanwhile, on the directions of Shabir Ahmad Shah, a delegation led by Er Farooq Ahmad Khan visited Kakapora to participate in condolence meeting organized in memory of Bilal Kakpori.

The delegation included Mukhtar Ahmad Sofi, Muhammad Amin (district president Pulwama), Muhammad Yousuf, Feroz Ahmad and others. (KNS)
