DGP Sanctions Rs 3.10 Lakh As Scholarship For Wards Of Slain Policemen

Srinagar:Director General of Police Dilbag Singh, IPS has sanctioned scholarships in favour of 62 wards of deceased policemen for the academic session 2018-19, a police spokesman in a handout said.

The spokesman said an amount of Rs 3,10,000/- scholarship have been sanctioned out of central police welfare fund for these students.

“Rs.5000/- each has been sanctioned in favour of school going children of deceased policemen who have expired while in service due to natural or accidental deaths.

The wards who have been provided scholarships are studying in different classes from primary to graduation level,” said Police spokesman in a statement.

“Police Headquarters has been sanctioning scholarships for wards of deceased police personnel and martyrs in order to provide them a succor to continue their studies,” said police spokesman in a statement.
