Office Record, Some Computer Systems Damaged In Mysterious Blaze At ARTO Office

Srinagar: Official record and a room of the building at Asistant Road Transport Office (ARTO) office Bandipora gutted in a mysterious fire blaze on Saturday early morning.
Reports reaching GNS said that the fire broke inside the third storey of the ARTO office building in Block C of Mini Secretariat near Madar.
They said that the employees working overnight in Media Monitoring and Media Certification Cell(MCMC) after feeling smoke reported the fire incident and immediately called the fire and emergency services and concerned police station.
After getting the information, a police team and sleuths of fire and emergency department rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control, they said.
However, the official record and some computer system were damaged in the incident, they said.
A police officer also confirmed the incident and said that the fire broke out inside the ARTO office under mysterious circumstances.
“The cause of fire is being ascertained and all angles would be looked into to ascertain the incident,” he said.
He said that a case under relevant sections of law has been registered and further investigations have been taken up. (GNS)
