J&K Police organises Lok Darbar-cum-awareness programme on New Criminal Laws

Date:

As a measure of community engagement and to promote legal awareness, Jammu and Kashmir Police organized Lok Darbar-cum-Awareness programme on New Criminal Laws in Srinagar on Monday.

The event held at Higher Secondary School Sangam, Srinagar was meticulously designed with a dual purpose, viz, to provide a forum for addressing public grievances and to educate attendees about the recently introduced New Criminal Laws.

The programme witnessed active participation from a diverse group of stakeholders, including senior Police Officers, the concerned Tehsildar, the Principal and dedicated staff of Higher Secondary School Sangam, as well as prominent local heads and esteemed citizens of the area.

Participating officers addressed a range of issues particularly those pertaining to police, offering immediate solutions and assurances to the public.

For concerns related to other departments, the officers assured the gathering that these would be promptly forwarded to the relevant authorities for early redressal.

During the session, participant officers delivered detailed briefings on the salient features of the New Criminal Laws, explaining their relevance and impact on day-to-day life.

The interactive format encouraged attendees to ask questions and seek clarifications, ensuring that the information was accessible and relatable to all present.

This Lok Darbar-cum- Awareness programme stands as a testament to the J&K Police’s on-going dedication to public service, bridging gaps between the administration and the people and promoting an informed and law-abiding society.
