The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Jammu and Kashmir, continuing the observance of Vigilance Awareness Week 2025 under the theme “Vigilance: Our Shared Responsibility,” organized a series of comprehensive awareness programs across the Union Territory on October 30, 2025. The initiative aimed to nurture integrity, transparency, and the principles of good governance through active departmental and public engagement.

These programs were held in proactive collaboration with the Departments of Transport, Traffic, and Forest to promote ethical conduct and accountability within their administrative systems. Universities and renowned educational institutions also joined the drive at selected locations, helping disseminate vigilance-related values and fostering civic responsibility among students.

Programs were organized at multiple venues across Jammu and Kashmir, including the RTO Offices in Jammu and Kathua, DC Office Ramban, PWD Dak Bungalow Katra, and the Forest Department Poonch in the Jammu Division. In the Kashmir Division, events were held at IMPA Srinagar, DC Offices Budgam and Ganderbal, Circuit House Pulwama, Mini Secretariat Kulgam, Dak Bungalows in Anantnag and Baramulla, and Town Hall Kupwara.

Additionally, the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of ACB organized a major awareness event at the Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST), Awantipora, which saw enthusiastic participation from university students, faculty members, and administrative staff. The IMPA event in Srinagar was joined by students and faculty from SP College, Srinagar.

A documentary highlighting ACB’s ongoing anti-corruption initiatives was screened at various venues. The film featured messages from Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha, and Shri Shakti Kumar Pathak, IPS, Director ACB, J&K. An inspiring audio message from former President of India, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, was also played, reinforcing the national commitment to integrity, accountability, and the shared responsibility of eradicating corruption.

Each district-level event featured awareness sessions conducted in close coordination with the Transport and Traffic Departments. Senior ACB officers, along with district officers including RTOs/ARTOs and SPs/DySPs-Traffic, delivered insightful presentations on the collective duty of officials and citizens in fostering ethical governance and transparent public service delivery. The main events in Jammu and Srinagar were held at the RTO Office Jammu and IMPA Srinagar, respectively.

To promote interactive participation, attendees engaged in mobile app-based questionnaires designed to gauge perceptions about public service challenges and improvements. Participants also received awareness materials — including posters, pamphlets, and digital resource links — highlighting anti-corruption reporting tools such as the Satark Nagrik App and ACB’s official helpline and WhatsApp numbers.

Each program concluded with an Integrity Pledge Ceremony led by senior ACB officers, reaffirming participants’ and departments’ commitment to uphold moral and ethical standards in public service.

The Anti-Corruption Bureau extended its sincere gratitude to all government departments, institutions, universities, and the Departments of Transport and Traffic for their active collaboration. The Bureau also thanked the media and general public for their strong participation and urged continued community engagement to strengthen a culture of integrity, transparency, and accountability across Jammu and Kashmir.(KINS)
